For the last 8 years, I worked in the publishing industry. As such, it made it so that 95% of my reading was dedicated to reading for business or reviewing submissions. While I read a lot of great titles and reading those unfinished products is alot of fun in its own right, I left the industry in December 2022, so 2023 was the year I got back to reading as a hobby.
I was able to get in 123 titles, or about 10 a month. I am open to most genres and am a sucker for young adult (YA) fiction as well. I’ll take most recommendations, and most of the titles I read are low on swearing, sex, violence, etc. This year I read classics that are a couple of hundred years old, and new releases. Putting those titles all together, I’d like to give special recognition to the few titles that REALLY stuck with me. Some of these are now on my all time favorites list.
With that many read, I thought I’d introduce the First Annual Golden Mauzers to give special recognition. To qualify I needed to read and finish it for the first time in 2023. For the full list of what I read, You can check out my Goodreads.
With that said, here are the nominees for my favorites in each category. Video reveals of the winners will be revealed before the end of February 2023, so stay tuned!
